The Northwest Tower Brass
McIntyre Hall Presents
Sunday, October 9 2:00pm
Comprised of musicians from the Skagit Symphony, The Northwest Tower Brass Quintet headlines the first concert of the four concert Chamber Music Series. The Northwest Tower Brass Quintet is made up of some of Skagit Valley’s finest brass players: Cindy Luna and Bennie Rawson on Trumpet, Kim Rawson on French Horn, Amy Kavanagh on Tuba, and Vince Fejeran on Trombone. Tower Brass is unique in its versatility of musical styles, allowing the quintet to perform music from Sousa to Bach and Ewald to Ellington. Its members perform with Skagit Symphony, A’Town Big Band, North Cascade Concert Band, The Skagit Community Band, as well as other chamber ensembles. Special guests Michael Wheatley and Barb Hunter will perform Arthur Honegger’s Sonatina, a neo-classical gem for violin and cello composed in Paris in 1932.
Patrons will have the opportunity to learn more about the music in an informal conversation with Michael Wheatley, Music Director of Skagit Symphony, and Nida Tautvydas, Executive Director of McIntyre Hall. The intimate Chamber Music concert takes place in the Studio Space at McIntyre Hall. Patrons are encouraged to enjoy their refreshments during the concert.
