DESCRIPTION:McIntyre Hall Presents \nAmerican Patchwork Quartet \nFriday\, October 16    7:30pm \nLike a melodic melting pot\, this quartet is re-imagining timeless songs from America’s past through a multicultural lens. Knitting their own tapestry of classic folk songs infused with jazz\, country twang\, West African hypnotics and East Asian ornamentation\, American Patchwork Quartet is on a mission to reclaim the immigrant soul of American roots music. Recently making their debut at the Grand Ole Opry\, this Grammy-nominated group is comprised of multi-Grammy Award-winning guitarist and vocalist Clay Ross\, Falguni Shah\, an eleventh-generation Hindustani classical vocalist\, Yasushi Nakamura\, an internationally acclaimed jazz bassist and Clarence Penn\, a drumming protégée of Ellis Marsalis.
